1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray
The Chevrolet Corvette C2 was introduced in the summer of 1962 as the Sting Ray (written with a space, unlike the C3). For the first time, the Corvette was available as a coupe, doubling its sales as it gained popularity even in northern regions. Initially, the 327 V8 engine from the C1 was carried over, producing between 250 and 375 hp in the C2. In mid-1965, the powerful 396 Big Block with 425 hp was introduced. By 1966, the engine was bored out to 7.0 liters, delivering an impressive 450 hp.
